Orchestra (2008)


Winner of the 2009 UCSB Orchestral Composition Competition. Premiered by the UCSB Symphony Orchestra during the 2009 Primavera Festival.


This short, playful aleotoric piece for orchestra is on the theme of tuning. One member or section of the ensemble is instructed to hold a pitch while the others move from disparate pitches towards the unison. It involves some simple choreography.
